Laura and McLean have an amazing story of how they met... the architect and the designer.
And they're very much in love.
This fall they'll celebrate their marriage in an intimate gathering at McLean's family's home. As they excitedly talked about the upcoming details (her dress, the setting, the small group of guests) I could totally picture it... the most perfectly intimate affair.
Getting to spend time with them in their loft was like going to a museum... it's this amazing display of all their combined artistic ventures. Figure drawings, watercolors, books, and crossword puzzles are everywhere... and they don't just display them, they DO them.
And of course, you can't miss beautiful Molly, their cat, who was more than willing to pose for me at any given moment.
That's what I love. Capturing people not only with the others that make them happy, but in the PLACE that makes them happy. So this shoot, as you can imagine, was a dream.
And let me tell you about this ring...
When McLean proposed he gave Laura a beautiful heirloom diamond from his Grandmother. Then the two of them worked with a designer to make a custom piece from that diamond and other heirloom stones and metals from very special family members. It's absolutely stunning and has such a great story!
McLean and Laura, I loved spending time with you and photographing you in the place that you've made your home. Happiest of weddings and a lifetime of laughter, crossword puzzles, and kisses to you both.
