My husband has been friends with these two since college, and I'm happy to now call them my friends as well. I really heart these people. We've been able to celebrate all of life's major moments together... marriage, house, dog, and finally kids... each of us having two little blond boys.
And man, their boys are just all kinds of fun and cute.
The 8 of us spent a long weekend at Edisto Island, SC, celebrating a mutual friend's wedding. When we weren't digging moats and creating castles for the boys' dinosaurs on the beach, we were practicing our pitch (terrible... mine is terrible) and greasing up the classic slip and slide. The boys immediately took a shine to each other and it was a lot of fun to watch the oldest two discuss dinosaurs and construction, while the youngest two (only 2 weeks apart!) focused on sand-eating and filling the kiddie pool with dirt.
I was so excited to get the chance to take pictures of them during our vacation. Seeing them as parents and watching how much they truly enjoy laughing and playing with their kids was just awesome.
We don't get to see these guys nearly as often as I like now that distance and lack of excess free time separate us, but I'm so thankful we got to spend so much time with them and their boys. We left the weekend feeling refreshed, mosquito-bitten, and thankful. Thankful that life has allowed us to meet such good people, and that we are able to connect with them in this stage of life... sleep-deprived parenthood.
Here's hoping Jordan-Irving trips become an annual thing!
