When the Donahue family met me at the door only one of them was fully clothed, and she had curlers in her hair. They welcomed me in warmly, proudly, as they introduced me to their newest family member...
It's always my goal and my hope that families feel so comfortable with me that being shirtless, feeding a baby, even cleaning up a puddle of pee on the floor, are just part of their day. They don't stop, try to hide it, or feel flustered. Because that's life. It's messy and unexpected, and at least in our house someone's always missing some clothes.
Although this family left for vacation the minute the shoot was over, you'd never have known it. They were relaxed as we discussed all things new baby, and analyzed Nate's beautiful features to see which sides of the family were represented.
Big brother Nolan hovered over Nate, poking his nose, offering kisses (head butts, sometimes), and keeping him very entertained. I have a little bit of a soft spot for two boys, and an even bigger weakness for little boys named Nolan (!!!), so this whole shoot (just like the last Donahue shoot!) was delightful from start to finish.
Donahue family, thank you for allowing me into your lives as you welcome your second son to the world. Nolan you are an incredible big brother, already. Nate, you are an absolute doll.
Many adventures, forts, wrestling matches, and more brother bonding to you both!
